La Bella Vita Wines

 

Frappato

Frappato is a red Italian wine grape planted primarily in Sicily. As a varietal, Frappato produces light bodied wines with a distinct grapey aroma.

Characteristics:  
This wine is characterized by an intense red color. This wine perfumes earthy and spicy, with a firm and supple tannic taste. The Flavor is dry, soft and harmonic. It is best served with red meat, game and perfumed cheese. Serve at 8-10 degrees C. (46-50 degrees F.)   Contains Sulfites.

 

 




Grillo
 
Grillo is a white grape variety which withstands high temperatures and is widely used in Sicilian wine-making and, in particular, for Marsala wines.

Characteristics:  
Color is yellow with amber glints. This local Sicilian wine produces an elegant, thirst-quenching and fruity taste with a characteristic bouquet of apricot, peach and orange. Very adaptable with ors d’oeuvres, and grilled fish. Serve at 8-10 degrees C. (46-50 degrees F.)   Contains Sulfites. 

 

 





Nero D' Avola
 
Nero d'Avola ("Black of Avola" in Italian) is "the most important red wine grape in Sicily" and is one of Italy's most important indigenous varieties. It is named after Avola in the far south of Sicily and its wines are compared to New World Shirazes, with sweet tannins and plum or peppery flavors.

Characteristics:  
This wine is characterized by a deep ruby red color. This wine perfumes bilberry and wild berries, with a tannic and supple taste. The Flavor is round and structured. It is perfect with meat sauces, grilled meat and tasty cheese. Serve at 8-10 degrees C. (46-50 degrees F.))   Contains Sulfites. 

 

 






Inzolia  

Inzolia is a white Italian wine grape planted primarily in western Sicily where it can be used to produce Marsala wines. The grape is noted for its nutty aroma

Characteristics:  
This wine is characterized by a bright yellow color with green nuances. This wine perfumes Mediterranean herbs with a dry and intense taste. It is perfect with specialties of fish and tuna. Serve at 8-10 degrees C. (46-50 degrees F)  Contains Sulfites.

Great acknowledgement at the Challenge International du Vin 2008! Our NERO D'AVOLA GURGO' obtained the gold medal among 5129 samples coming from 35 countries!!

This year too we brought home 5 prizes that confirmed once more the quality of our products at the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF VINITALY 2008.  The winners: GURGO' NERO D'AVOLA, GURGO' FRAPPATO-SYRAH, GURGO' VIOGNER, GURGO' GRILLO, CANTINE PAOLINI INZOLIA.  Good job!

Great Success for our wines at the 15th edition of the International Wine  Competition in Verona. FRAPPATO-SYRAH GURGO' AND NERO D'AVOLA GURGO' obtained in ex-aequo two SILVER MEDALS in the category red wines and VIOGNER GURGO'  received a GRAN MENZIONE. We can be very competitive!
